On Friday, protesters from Zamfara State staged a demonstration at the entrance of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters.
They demand the reopening of investigations into the former Governor of the state, Bello Matawalle.
Under the banner of the APC Loyalists Forum, the protesters urged the anti-graft agency to delve into all petitions against Matawalle, particularly concerning the alleged diversion of contracts amounting to N70 billion during his tenure as governor.
The group presented their demands to the EFCC, seeking a thorough investigation into the accusations leveled against the former governor.
Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC Director of Public Affairs, received the protest letter on behalf of the chairman. He reassured the demonstrators of the EFCC’s commitment to pursuing every corruption case to its rightful conclusion.
