Renowned Nollywood actor, Prince Jide Kosoko has stepped into his new role as the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), issuing a stern warning to the public.
Kosoko, in an Instagram post dressed in NDLEA attire, announced his appointment and laid down the law.
“Enough… Enough of this general sickness of continuous abuse of drugs,” Kosoko declared.
He proceeded to list a range of substances now banned, including Karaole, Alabukun, phensic, paracetamol, cafenol, and all soft drinks, energy drinks, man power or bitters.
He emphasized, “The only drug hereby recommended and approved by me is WATER.”
Kosoko’s appointment comes amidst a growing concern over substance abuse in Nigeria.
Last year, popular musician Naira Marley visited the NDLEA headquarters to pledge his support in the fight against drug abuse, urging his fans to join the agency’s efforts.
Actress Toyin Abraham also voiced her concern, offering assistance to those struggling with drug addiction.
Meanwhile, former BBNaija housemate Alex Unusual questioned the rationale behind drug abuse, affirming her refusal to succumb to peer pressure.
Kosoko’s appointment signals a renewed effort in the battle against drug abuse, with a clear message: only water is approved….
