After five days intensive training, 159 youths drawn from Enugu North and South local government areas have received materials and cash grant worth millions of Naira from the member representing the federal constituency, Hon. Chimaobi Atu.
At the closing ceremony held in Enugu Over the weekend, Hon. Atu while expressing gratitude for the success of the programme, said “nothing gives me joy like human capital development.
“You started well and you have all finished well. The records available to me shows that a total of 159 people benefited from the training. This is even higher than the number we set out to train on the first day. This shows that Nigerian youths are always willing to learn if the opportunity is provided. Congratulations to all of you.
The lawmaker assured that “the successful trainees that have met our criteria will be empowered with start-up capital ranging from 100,000 to 50,000 depending on the category they fall into. They will also be given start-up materials/chemicals worth over 100,000 each.
“We have successfully moved over 150 youths out of poverty. I can assure you that these people are going to be very successful with the skills they have acquired.”
The coordinating partner of the programme and the MD/CEO of Synergy Fields Engr. Chris Ugwu said the training is timely following the economic situation of the country and charged the beneficiaries to deploy what they’ve learnt to help themselves, their families and the society in general.
Engr. Ugwu called on other public office holders to borrow a leaf from what Hon. Atu has done and scale up the skills of the youths in Enugu to turn the state into a production hub.

In her closing remarks, chief Resource Person for the training, Dr. Mrs Clara Ogbebor who is also the HOD of Chemical Science Department and Director of Industrial Training, Glorious Vision University, Edo State, commended the commitment and willingness of the beneficiaries to learn.
She said they were thought how to produce liquid soaps, detergents, disinfectants, among other chemical productions.
She expressed confidence that all the trainees can comfortably produce and market these products as they were exposed to the processes in the 5 days theory and practical training.
The beneficiaries who spoke during the closing ceremony, thanked Hon. Atu for changing their lives and prayed to God to bless him for his generosity and the love he has shown them.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of the cash awards, start-up chemicals, study manual and certificate of training to all the beneficiaries.
