Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, will today flag off the commencement of a multi-billion naira terminal project aimed at transforming the state capital, Umuahia.
The governor made the announcement during an interdenominational thanksgiving service held to mark his first year in office. He highlighted the project’s potential to elevate Umuahia to a status befitting its role as the state capital.
Governor Otti envisions the terminal as a central hub for transportation in Umuahia.
“We want Umuahia to be a proper capital city. We want all the parks and all the markets to be in the same place, even the railway terminal.
“You know the railway is coming from Aba and very soon, it will hit Umuahia. We have already agreed with them to move the Umuahia central terminal into the same place.
“So Umuahia in the next one year, you may not be able to recognize it if you travel,” Gov Otti disclosed.
Governor Otti reaffirmed his commitment to leading with integrity, prioritizing the needs of Abia residents.
He pledged to remain steadfast in his approach, regardless of criticism. His primary accountability, he emphasized, lies with God and the people of Abia.
