The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has extended his warmest wishes to the Nigerians as they join their Muslim counterparts in the world to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
In a statement released via his X social media handle, Obi expressed his heartfelt greetings to Muslim brothers and sisters, urging them to draw strength from their faith and the teachings of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him).
He said: “My dear Muslim brothers and sisters, as we gather to celebrate Eid-al-Adha, the feast of sacrifice, I want to extend my warmest wishes to you all. May this Sallah bring us all closer to Allah, to one another, and to our true potentials as individuals and as a nation.”
The former Anambra State governor encouraged Nigerians to emulate the unwavering trust, courage, and willingness to sacrifice for the greater good exhibited by Prophet Ibrahim, saying: “His unwavering trust in Allah, his courage, and his willingness to sacrifice for the greater good are objects of inspiration to us all.”
Obi also urged Nigerians to strive to be a source of hope, comfort, and support to those around them, adding: “May Allah accept our prayers, our fasting, and our charity. May He grant us the wisdom to walk in His path, the courage to stand for what is right, and the grace to be a blessing to our communities.”
