The Director General of Peace and Good Governance Group (P3G) and convener of the Youth Security Summit South East 2023 as well as the National Debate 2022 Monday Diamond Ani also known as Odoziobodo has said that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is no more in support of Sit-at-home in the South East.
Ani stated this following his invitation by some Igbo Elders of thought and Leadership of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo Worldwide under Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu CFR, OFR, MFR, FNSCE (Ahaejiagamba) President General of Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo Worldwide on 30th of May 2024 to visit Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at the DSS Custody in Abuja.
According to him, the conversation between Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the group shows MNK is worried seriously about the state of insecurity in the South East largely propelled by the popular Sit-at-home exercise hitherto being carried out by some unknown persons.
He said that “the core ideological motive for Sit-at-home has long been truncated and abused by some desperate persons whose evil intents are to consolidate on insecurities in the South East region to make selfish political gains, exploit the defenseless,propel economic hardship and promote ethnic hatred in Igboland.
“It was a successful meeting, considering the economic and security situation in the South East, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu advocates for peace,unity and harmony in the South East. He also advocates for end in Sit-at-Home in ala Igbo so as to create the most conducive atmosphere for business growth and tourism protection in Ala Igbo.
“Hon Monday Diamond Ani who further commended the Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo Worldwide under the Leadership of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and some Igbo Political Leaders, importantly Gov Peter Mbah of Enugu State and some of his sincere and committed colleagues for their relentless efforts on the issues of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the welfare of Ndi-Igbo in General also appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to please apply political solution in the prompt release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to consolidate the entrenchment of Peace and security in the South East.”
