Vice President Kashim Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has stated that President Ahmad Bola Tinubu is not against the North, despite claims made by disgruntled elements aiming to sow discord between the government and its citizens.

He made these remarks while receiving a high-powered federal government delegation led by the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, during a condolence visit to Kano following the death of his mother-in-law on Wednesday.

Highlighting President Tinubu’s commitment to Northern Nigeria’s development, Senator Shettima emphasized that the President’s appointments, including two Ministers of Defense and the Chief of Defense Staff from the North, refute allegations of bias against the region.

“At an appropriate time, we will present evidence to debunk claims that the President is anti-North,” Shettima disclosed.

He urged Nigerians to support President Tinubu in achieving national progress, emphasizing that his intentions are constructive and not divisive.

“This is about advancing Nigeria, beyond political affiliations, towards effective governance that benefits all,” Shettima added.

He praised the solidarity shown by the Kano State Government across party lines, underscoring national unity over partisan differences.

“In PDP, NNPP, APC, we are one family, united by our commitment to Nigeria’s greatness,” he concluded, urging collective efforts towards national development.
