As the long wait for the presidential pronouncement on who becomes the Vice Chancellor of the recently upgraded Alvan Ikoku University of Education Owerri continues to keep many in suspense, pro-development group, Southeast Development Ambassadors Network (SeDAN) has noted that only an internal person who knows the problems of the institution in and out is suitable to be appointed the Vice Chancellor of the new university.
SeDAN said such an internal person if appointed wouldn’t waste time to place the former College of Education on a strong footing so that it will compete with, and even outshine others in her mould.
Based on this premise, therefore, the group has tipped the Current Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the university, Prof Mrs Stella Lemchi as the woman with the magic wand, experience, capacity and contacts for the vice-chancellorship seat.
Rising from her third exco meeting in Enugu on Monday, Southeast Development Ambassadors Network (SeDAN) said Prof Mrs Stella Lemchi as an internal person in Alvan Ikoku University of Education Owerri whose teaching experience in the institution from its College of Education days spans about three decades would turn the Varsity around if confirmed the Vice Chancellor.
