The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial Zone, Sunday Karimi, has cautioned the Senate Chief Whip, Ali Ndume (APC, Borno South) to “stop behaving like a loosed cannon”.

Karimi was reacting to Ndume’s criticism of President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday alleging that the President has been fenced off and caged by certain forces.

Reacting, Karimi said: “Most of his criticisms of the Tinubu administration seems to be borne out of an agenda to run the government down at all costs. Where was he, when the North was in government? He hardly raised his voice to speak up against President Muhamnadu Buhari.”

According to Karimi, most of Ndume’s allegations cannot be backed up with any known evidence.

Alleging Ndume of pull down syndrome, Karimi said: “As an experienced lawmaker who has been in the National Assembly for over 20 years, Senator Ndume ought to know better. Despite having the right to free speech, he should avoid inflammatory statements capable of heating up the polity and tearing the nation apart”.

Ndume had expressed concerns that President Tinubu lacked the will and courage to tackle challenges plaguing the country and good public affairs managers.

He has various stated that Nigerians are increasingly frustrated by the Tinubu-led government’s failure to tackle poverty, insecurity, hunger, and other pressing issues.

The Borno Senator had accused the government of Tinubu of not doing anything about the food scarcity crisis in the country and has become more unaware of the realities facing the nation.

He said the president’s doors have remained closed to some ministers and members of the national assembly who should tell him the truth. He also claimed President Tinubu has failed to address the farmers-herders crisis due to insincerity of purpose and ethnic sentiments on the part of the President.
