Women Support Women for Human Development and Mentorship Initiative (WOSUWO) has applauded Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah for appointing their member; Chika Mbah as the acting Managing Director of Enugu State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (ENRUWASA).
The President of WOSUWO, Amb. Onyi Mamah in a statement made available to JOURNALIST101 said Governor Mbah is showing that his support for women isn’t a lip service, adding that the appointment ticks the right boxes.
“We congratulate our very own, Chika Mbah on her recent appointment as the acting MD ENRUWASSA, this is the Governor recognizing the capacity, brilliance and intelligence of a woman, a highly experienced one at that,” the statement reads in part.
Amb mamah said she’s happy to find more women climbing successfully to leadership positions which is what WOSUWO stands for, while recalling her numerous fight for women to be included and urged the Governor to do more.
Similarly, a member of the Enugu State House of Assembly and also a member of Women Support Women, Hon Princess Obiajulu Ugwu, noted that the Governor have always dotted his appointments properly irrespective of gender.
“Governor Mbah knows how to put a square peg in a square hole and a round peg in a round hole. This appointment is another affirmation of his support for gender equality,” she said.
