Akpabio

A misunderstanding led to a mild exchange between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele during a plenary session.

Both lawmakers are members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The exchange, which occurred on Tuesday, revolved around the timing of a recess.

Senate President Akpabio had instructed Senate Leader Bamidele to propose a break, with plans to reconvene later in the day.

However, when Bamidele stood up, he requested that they continue with the next item on the agenda.

Akpabio quickly interrupted Bamidele, insisting on taking a break immediately. He called for a vote, which went in his favor.

After Bamidele declined to move the motion for recess, Akpabio turned to the new Senate Chief Whip, Senator Muhammed Tahir Monguno, and asked him to do so instead.
