…VP Monday Diamond Commends Gov Mbah’s Intervention at IMT During Groundbreaking Ceremony
On Monday, July 23, 2024, the Acting Rector of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Dr. Emeka Ejim, PhD, hosted the leadership of the IMT Alumni Association for a historic meeting and the groundbreaking ceremony of Project GO GREEN IMT.
The members of the IMT Alumni Association, led by National Vice President Hon. Monday Diamond Ani JP (Odoziobodo), paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Ejim to foster familiarity and discuss strategies for advancing the institute.
In his opening speech, the articulate National Vice President of the IMT Alumni Association, Hon. Monday Diamond Ani, expressed his delight at the Acting Rector’s achievements in a short period, describing him as a righteous leader with enviable transformative foresight—young, vibrant, proactive, intelligent, a team player, and results-oriented.
Hon. Ani also commended the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his government interventions at IMT, which have revitalized and remodeled the institute to meet competitive global standards in line with his innovative approach to educational development.
In his welcome address, the Acting Rector, flanked by Acting Chief Librarian Dr. Hyacinth Ugudu and HOD of Fine and Applied Arts Dr. Fidelis Udenta, expressed his joy at the visit, praising Dr. Mbah for his consistent and timely interventions that address the institute’s needs, providing the necessary support for IMT’s smooth operation since he took office.
Dr. Ejim emphasized his administrative theory of Input, Process, and Output, which includes project targets such as prompt payment of staff salaries, improvement of academic standards—including the soon-to-be-launched E-result checking application enabling students to view their results online, and the upcoming unveiling of Robotics 1, developed by the departments of Mechanical and Mechatronics at IMT.
He also highlighted efforts to streamline admission and graduation processes, the Go Green project, cultivation of discipline and moral standards among IMT students, and attracting potential development investors to the school, including a newly signed MoU with world-class tech giant SIMBA for an ICT workshop at IMT.
The Acting Rector emphasized the need for a consolidated synergy between the institute and the Alumni Association for prompt transformational development of the school, noting that the government alone cannot do it all.
In a defining moment of the visit, the Vice President of the Alumni Association and his team, alongside the Acting Rector, formally performed the groundbreaking ceremony for Project GO GREEN IMT, using high-quality paint manufactured by IMT students.
