A building collapsed at Arowojobe Estate in Maryland, Lagos, in the early hours of Thursday, claiming the lives of three construction workers.
According to Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the incident occurred at No. 13 Wilson Mba St., Arowojobe Estate, Maryland, Lagos.
LASEMA received a distress call at 3:49 a.m. and swiftly responded to the scene by 3:58 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered that a set of three terraces under construction had collapsed.
“One of the rescued individuals was receiving treatment on-site.
“Search and rescue operations began immediately, resulting in the recovery of three adult males who were confirmed dead. Two adult males were rescued alive, and one additional male was retrieved from under the rubble,” he stated.
