Sir Paul Chukwuma has described the death of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu as a “personal loss.” In a statement, Chukwuma, who is the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Council of Olivia University, Burundi, and Benue State University, expressed that Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu was a patriotic Nigerian and a dedicated leader who left nothing to chance.

According to the statement, “Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu was a foremost patriot and businessman who made his mark in various sectors of Nigeria’s economy, excelling at the highest levels, including the media sector. Chief Iwuanyanwu was a giant of immense values, guided by an indomitable spirit of a devoted nationalist.”

Reflecting on his tenure as the President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo from April of last year until his death yesterday, Sir Chukwuma described Chief Iwuanyanwu as a passionate public servant. “As President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo over the past year, his dedication to service and love for Ndi Igbo, as a true Nigerian, was evident in the way he led the apex Igbo organization from April of last year until his passing on Thursday,” the statement reads.

For Mr. Chukwuma, Chief Iwuanyanwu’s death represents both a “personal loss and a collective loss to Ndigbo and Nigerians at large.” He extended his condolences to the family, Ohaneze Ndigbo, and the friends and associates of the deceased.

Chief Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Iwuanyanwu passed away on Thursday at the age of 82 from an undisclosed cause.
