The senator representing the Enugu East Senatorial District, Kelvin Chukwu, has praised the legendary Chief Mike Ejeagha as an icon of morals and virtue for his dedication to promoting Igbo cultural heritage and values through his timeless music.
The senator made this statement during a visit to the music icon at his residence in Abakpa, Enugu.
He emphasized the importance of honoring and preserving such figures who have made significant contributions to society.
It’s worth noting that the music legend Chief Mike Ejeagha went viral again following a TikTok trend featuring his song “Ka Esi Le Onye Isi Oche,” produced over 30 years ago.
Senator Chukwu also commended Chief Ejegha for using his platform to advocate for unity and peace, inspiring generations to come.
“Mike Ejeagha is known for his unique blend of traditional Igbo music and contemporary sounds which often reflects the cultural heritage and storytelling traditions of the Igbo people,” Senator Chukwu said.
Senator Chukwu shared that he has been an ardent fan of Ejegha’s music since childhood and expressed pride in witnessing the positive impact it has had on society.
Chief Ejegha’s influence has transcended generations and will continue to inspire future leaders in the community.
Senator Chukwu expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet such a revered figure, noting that the values and contributions of icons like Chief Ejegha will forever be celebrated and remembered.
Responding, one of the sons of Chief Ejegha who spoke on behalf of the folklorist expressed his gratitude to the senator for the kind gesture towards their family.
He also commended the federal Lawmaker for his efforts in promoting the social welfare of his constituents and prayed to God to grant the Senator the resources needed to foster development in the Enugu East Senatorial District.
