The Coalition of Pro Biafra Groups (COPROBIG); a non-violent alliance of various Biafra activists and organizations dedicated to restoring the right to self-determination for the indigenous Biafran people through legal, political, and diplomatic means. We are law-abiding citizens of Nigeria by birth and Biafrans by heritage.

This Coalition includes prominent pro-Biafra organizations such as the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Eastern Peoples Congress (EPC), Billie Human Rights Initiative (BHRI), Biafra Liberation Council (BLC), Biafra Revolutionary Force (BRF), Biafra Revolutionary Organization (BRO), Biafra Reconciliation (BR), and the Union of Biafra Scientists and Engineers (UBSE). We vehemently condemn the reprehensible outburst by federal government-sponsored Bayo Onanuga directed at Mr. Peter Obi.

Onanuga should focus his attention on advising the Tinubu-led federal government to address the rapidly declining economy instead of attacking Peter Obi, who, along with other concerned Nigerians, has every right to criticize the economic turmoil plaguing our nation.

The upcoming week-long protest is born from the economic frustrations and hunger inflicted upon the citizens of Nigeria due to the cluelessness, impunity, and rampant corruption of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has caused widespread hunger among the populace. While people protest, their blame is wrongly directed at Mr. Peter Obi and the Ndigbo.

Onanuga and his supporters must understand that any attempt to tarnish Peter Obi’s reputation is a deep provocation of the spirits of our ancestors and all progressives living today.

Onanuga should heed the Igbo proverb: “ONYE APKALA NWA AGU AKA N’ ODU, MA ODI NDU MA ONWURU-ANWU,” which translates to “No one should touch the tiger’s tail, whether alive or dead.”

He should also refrain from exacerbating the nation’s already dire situation by reminding Nigerians of what they have lost in Peter Obi, as the American adage goes, “You don’t know the value of what you have until you lose it.”

We acknowledge the damaging rhetoric perpetuated by Onanuga and his allies against Peter Obi and, therefore, declare the following:

To prevent a genocidal plot by the federal government that could lead to the mass killing of Biafrans participating in the upcoming nationwide protest, COPROBIG announces that there will be no sit-at-home order in Biafra land during this week-long national protest.

The cancellation of any public pro-Biafra activities will not grant Nigerian security agencies the opportunity to harm the people of Biafra.

The planned week-long national protest is a subtle scheme to lead the youth of Ndigbo to their early graves.

The people of Biafra are encouraged to continue their daily activities as usual.
