Organizers of the nationwide hunger protests have announced that there will be a powerful resurgence of the protest from October 1, 2024 if the situation doesn’t improve.

These protests, which captured national attention from August 1st to 10th, were sparked by the soaring cost of living gripping the country.

In an interview on News Central TV, Omoyele Sowore, the Action Alliance Congress (AAC) presidential candidate and a pivotal figure behind the movement, shared the organizing committee’s fervent preparations for the next phase.

“This protest will resume at the beginning of October and might even start earlier depending on situational variables,” Sowore stated.

The demands are urgent and clear: a reversal of fuel subsidies, a substantial raise in the minimum wage to N250,000, the release of Nnamdi Kanu, and the adoption of a new constitution.

Despite President Bola Tinubu’s plea to bring the protests to a halt, the organizers remain resolute, dismissing his speech as insufficiently compelling.
