A terrifying predator, Victor Adegbesan, has been sentenced to six years and seven months behind bars for the brutal r*pe of a woman in Camden, London.
The 34-year-old, residing on Inverness Street, learned his fate at Wood Green Crown Court on Friday, July 26. His conviction for two counts of rape was secured after a harrowing trial that concluded on May 3.
The ordeal began on Thursday, July 22, 2021, when Adegbesan subjected the victim to a nightmarish experience, leaving her deeply traumatized. Swift action by the Metropolitan Police came after the victim managed to call 999. Officers worked tirelessly around the clock to gather crucial evidence, leading to Adegbesan’s swift charge the very next day, ensuring he was off the streets and unable to threaten anyone else.
Detective Constable Max Orange, who spearheaded the investigation, praised the courage of the victim for bravely coming forward to report such a heinous act.
He emphasized the commitment of the Met to safeguard women and girls, expressing pride in securing justice and imprisoning another dangerous offender.
