The Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) has officially declared Yunusa Muhammad, the vibrant candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), as the triumphant victor of the highly contested councilorship election in the bustling Papa Ward.

In an electrifying announcement made on Saturday at the crowded collation center in Darazo, the Returning Officer, Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar, revealed that Yunusa Muhammad garnered 1,156 votes ahead of his nearest rival, Ashiru Mohammad Papa of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 1,053 votes.

Trailing behind in third place was Idris Mohammad of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who managed to capture 290 votes, a distant finish in this pivotal election.

“I, Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar, hereby certify that I am the returning officer for the Papa Ward councilorship election in Bauchi, held on the 17th day of August, 2024. Having fulfilled all legal requirements, I proudly declare Yunusa Muhammad of AAC the winner and declare him elected,” he declared.
