President Bola Tinubu has extended his profound condolences to the Ayoola family of Ilesha, Osun State, following the heartbreaking loss of Justice Emmanuel Olayinka Ayoola, CON.
Justice Ayoola, a revered figure in the annals of Nigerian law, was a retired justice of the Supreme Court and a former chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
With a distinguished career that spanned continents, Justice Ayoola served as a Justice of the Court of Appeal of the Gambia from 1980 to 1983, rising to become Chief Justice of the Gambia from 1983 to 1992, before taking on the mantle of President of the Court of Appeals of Seychelles. He then graced the Nigerian judiciary as a Justice of the Court of Appeal from 1992 to 1998, leaving an indelible mark on each institution.
In a statement released by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu mourned the loss of this esteemed jurist, while celebrating his unwavering dedication to justice, renowned integrity, and unflinching courage in the face of adversity.
The President extended his heartfelt sympathies to Justice Ayoola’s colleagues and all members of the Nigerian judicial community, acknowledging the profound void left in their midst.
“He will always be remembered,” Tinubu proclaimed, “for his unwavering principles, profound discipline, brilliant intellect, and unparalleled jurisprudential acumen.”
The President prayed for the eternal repose of the venerable elder statesman and sought comfort for his bereaved family in this time of sorrow.
