Nigerian Customs officials

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) announced on Friday the appointment of new acting members to its management team.

In a press statement from Abdullahi Maiwada, the national public relations officer of the NCS, Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has approved key management appointments and redeployments to enhance strategic service delivery.

According to the statement, Assistant Comptrollers-General of Customs, Bello Jibo and Olaniyi Alajogun, have been promoted to Deputy Comptrollers-General of Customs.

“Following the statutory retirement of several members of the NCS management team, CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR approved these key management appointments and redeployments to improve service delivery.

“A breakdown of the appointments and redeployments is as follows: Bello Jibo is now DCG of Finance, Administration, and Technical Services (FATS); Olaniyi Alajogun is acting DCG of Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation (EI&I).

“Other appointments include; IG Umar as acting ACG of Headquarters; OA Salefu as acting ACG of Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC); BA Malinde as acting ACG of Human Resource Development (HRD); and T Bomodi as acting ACG of Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation (EI&I),” he stated.

The statement emphasized that the Service remains committed to providing strategic leadership to ensure effective and efficient service delivery for optimum performance.

“These appointments reflect the exemplary service and dedication of the officers to the Nigeria Customs Service. The Service is dedicated to maintaining strategic leadership to ensure effective and efficient service delivery for optimal performance.

“While expressing gratitude to the retired management members for their years of service, CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi congratulated the newly appointed officers and urged them to redouble their efforts to help the Service achieve greater success in its goals of revenue generation, smuggling suppression, and trade facilitation,” he added.
