Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has suspended his presidential campaign and thrown his support behind Republican candidate Donald Trump.

In a live broadcast on Friday, Mr. Kennedy announced the suspension, declaring he would “now throw his support to President Trump.

“In my heart, I no longer believe I have a realistic path to electoral victory,” Mr. Kennedy stated. “I am not terminating my campaign; I am simply suspending it.”

Mr. Kennedy’s endorsement of Mr. Trump comes less than 24 hours after Kamala Harris was named the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate during their convention.
