Salihu Lukman, the former National Vice Chairman for North-West of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has raised an alarming warning: President Bola Tinubu risks surpassing even former President Muhammadu Buhari in governance failures.

In a candid statement, Lukman expressed his dismay at the ongoing deterioration of governance in Nigeria under Tinubu’s leadership.

He decried the previous administration of Buhari as a low point, one that many felt was even more detrimental than the tenure of Goodluck Jonathan.

Lukman worries that if history repeats itself, the fate of whoever ascends to the presidency in 2027 may be similarly grim. He questioned, “If the APC falters in 2027, how can we be sure that the next administration after President Asiwaju Tinubu won’t plunge us into an even deeper crisis?”

His poignant reflections strike a chord as he notes, “As Nigerians, we bear witness to how governments at all levels seem to deteriorate over time. Despite the confidence many placed in Buhari, his leadership ultimately fell short of public hopes—arguably, even more so than Jonathan’s.”

Lukman concludes with a stark assertion: “Indeed, President Asiwaju Tinubu is perilously on the path to becoming worse than his predecessor, Buhari.”
