A nurse has been arrested in Lagos State following the tragic death of a 36-year-old woman, known only as Abiola.

The police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, provided details of the arrest on Wednesday. It all began when the driver of the deceased reported the incident to the Maroko Police Division on Tuesday at approximately 11:40 a.m.

According to the driver’s account, at around 3:00 a.m. on Monday, Abiola, a resident of Diamond Estate in Sangotedo-Lekki, requested a ride to a clinic in Lekki Phase 1 for a cosmetic procedure to enhance her figure—specifically, a Brazilian Butt Lift injection.

Upon their arrival, the clinic owner directed a nurse to administer the injection to Abiola. Moments later, chaos ensued as the woman lost consciousness and started gasping for breath.

Desperate for help, the driver rushed Abiola to another hospital in Lekki Phase 1, but it was too late; the staff on duty declared her dead upon arrival. This prompted detectives to visit the scene, where they meticulously gathered evidence before inspecting and photographing her remains, which were subsequently transported to a public morgue for an autopsy.

Mr. Hundeyin confirmed that the nurse involved has been taken into custody, and an investigation into this harrowing incident is currently underway.
