The Enugu Commissioner of Police, Kanayo Uzuegbu, presented a details of the case under file number MEN/541/2024, revealing that the defendant committed the brazen act at the dimly lit Ebeano Tunnel.

The prosecutor emphatically stated that Igwe’s actions flouted the law, contravening Sections 6(b), 1(1), and 2(b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, as well as Section 315(3) of the Criminal Code (Amendment) Law of 2009.

Among the treasures plundered from Chief Chijioke Mba were a Samsung Fold 4 valued at one million, three hundred thousand naira, an iPhone 13 Pro Max worth eight hundred thousand naira, a simple black iPhone cord priced at five thousand naira, and an envelope concealing five hundred US dollars in cash, among a trove of other valuables.

Presiding Magistrate, his worship, Nelson Egbo, adjourned the case until September 20, 2024, for further proceedings, casting an ominous shadow over Igwe’s fate.

Igwe will languish in the confines of the Enugu Correctional Center until his next court appearance.
