Fear and apprehension have gripped the Amaeze Community in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State following the tragic deaths of an unidentified woman, her daughter, and two others.
The incident, which occurred on September 1, 2024, has plunged the entire community into deep mourning. The exact cause of their deaths remains unknown at this time.
It was reported that the four victims shared a meal the night before and were later found dead in their sleep.
The traditional ruler of the community, HRH Igwe Felix Ugwu, confirmed the incident and expressed that the community is still in shock over this tragedy.
The monarch revealed that one of the victims, identified as Mama Chijioke Amaeze, had been caring for her ailing mother in her home before this mysterious event took the lives of her mother, her sister, and her daughter.
He added that while officers from the Nsukka Police Division have taken the bodies to the hospital for autopsy and investigation, the community has decided to seek spiritual guidance to uncover the cause of the incident.
“My community has been restless since this happened. We have not witnessed anything like this in the history of our community. We are making efforts to determine what could have led to this tragedy,” the royal father said.
