The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a bold statement declaring that no one, regardless of their position, is above the party in the wake of recent threats from Nyesom Wike, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory and former Governor of Rivers State.

During a press conference in Abuja on Monday, PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba addressed the brewing tension, emphasizing the party’s unity and strength.

Wike had issued a stark warning to PDP governors, threatening consequences if they dared to meddle in Rivers State party affairs, ominously declaring he would “put fire in their states.”

With an air of confidence, Wike claimed ownership over the PDP structure in Rivers, insisting that his influence over the party is unassailable.

In response, Ologunagba firmly stated, “What I can tell you is that nobody is above this party. It is the People’s Democratic Party.” He elaborated on the party’s commitment to internal harmony, revealing the establishment of reconciliation and disciplinary committees to navigate these turbulent waters. The party awaits their findings, signaling a careful yet resolute approach to the internal strife.
