I’m not desperate to be president — Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 election, has appointed Ibrahim Umar to his media team.

This announcement was made in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by the Peter Obi Media Reach.

Umar succeeds Yunusa Tanko, who has recently been appointed as the Interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement globally.

In their statement, Obi’s media team called Umar a versatile member of the Obidient Movement and noted that he shares Tanko’s fervor for a new Nigeria.

The statement read, “The Peter Obi Media Reach would like to inform the public, particularly media professionals, of some minor changes within our media personnel. Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the former publicist and chief spokesperson for the Obi Presidential Campaign, is stepping down to embrace a new significant challenge.

“Mallam Ibrahim Umar, another dedicated Obidient, will take his place in POMR, possessing the same zeal as Tanko in the fight for a new Nigeria. Tanko will now serve as the interim national coordinator of the Obidient Movement, overseeing the organization’s activities both nationally and internationally.

“We urge the public to support these dedicated Nigerians in their new roles as we continue our quest to dismantle the network of political criminals holding our beloved nation hostage. A New Nigeria is possible.”
