The Edo State Police Command has paraded an 18-year-old suspect, Kingsley Paul, for the murder of his 38-year-old lover in a hotel in Benin.
The tragic incident occurred near the Ekehuan Barracks in the state.
During a press briefing, Police Public Relations Officer Moses Joel Yamu presented Kingsley alongside other suspects arrested for various crimes, including murder and kidnapping.
Yamu stated that Kingsley had taken his female companion to the hotel, where he fatally stabbed her.
He confirmed that Kingsley would be charged in court once the investigation concludes.
In a confession, Kingsley revealed that he and his lover had agreed on a payment of N2,000, which he provided.
He recounted that she had already undressed when he unexpectedly stabbed her, insisting that there was no argument between them—he simply drew his knife and attacked without warning.
