Augustine Eguavoen has resigned as the interim coach of the Super Eagles.

He stated that his mandate was limited to just two matches, which he has now completed.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical director was appointed interim coach after the federation’s efforts to hire a permanent head coach for the national team were unsuccessful.

During his brief tenure, Eguavoen managed the Super Eagles in two crucial qualifying matches for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

Under his leadership, the Nigerian senior men’s team won 3-0 against Benin Republic, but they played to a goalless draw with Rwanda on Tuesday.
