On Tuesday, January 10, 2024, Major General Jamal Abdussalam, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Nigerian Army’s 6th Division, praised Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSL) for its exemplary construction of soldiers’ transit accommodations at the 3 Battalion Effurun.

Built and furnished to high standards, the accommodations for military personnel at Effurun Barrack in Uvwie, Delta State, have significantly boosted the morale of the soldiers, according to the GOC.

Inaugurating the facility, Major General Jamal highlighted that the state-of-the-art amenities align with ongoing efforts to enhance the welfare of the commanders and troops.

He expressed gratitude to Tantita Security for completing the project as part of a broader initiative to support the well-being of the Nigerian Army’s personnel.

“The 6 Division of the Nigerian Army will continue to safeguard vital national resources and foster a conducive environment for oil and gas exploration in the region,” he stated. “I extend my thanks to the Chief of Army Staff for his strategic leadership. We will ensure the protection of critical national infrastructure to facilitate increased oil production and maintain law and order within our jurisdiction.”

Abdussalam noted that providing housing for transit personnel would not only elevate morale but also enhance their capacity to sustain peace and order as their area of responsibility evolves.

“The soldier transit accommodation marks a significant milestone, addressing the essential need for troop housing. This project aligns with the Chief of Army Staff’s philosophy to transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped, and motivated force, capable of fulfilling our constitutional responsibilities in a collaborative environment.”

He further remarked, “Today’s commissioning of this transit accommodation underscores our commitment to corporate social responsibility. I commend Tantita Security Services for their dedication to this commendable project, which will have a lasting positive impact on the Unit, the Brigade, and the Nigerian Army as a whole.”

Major General Jamal acknowledged the substantial resources Tantita invested in the project, emphasizing that this collaboration strengthens the spirit of camaraderie and goodwill between the Army and the company. “I sincerely thank you for your vital contribution to enhancing the welfare of our soldiers,” he added.

“We encourage Tantita to seek opportunities in other barracks within our area of responsibility to extend this goodwill further.”

In closing, he commended all those involved in the completion of the 3 Battalion Soldiers Transit Accommodation, noting that the project would significantly uplift the spirit of personnel and enhance their productivity.

Engineer Keston Pondi, Managing Director of TSSL, explained that the construction aimed to improve the welfare of soldiers deployed in the area and to fortify the partnership between Tantita and the Nigerian Army.

Tantita Security will continue its collaboration with the military and other government agencies to combat crude oil theft in the region, as highlighted by Captain Warredi Enisuoh, Executive Director of Operations/Technical Services, who represented Engineer Pondi at the event.

He praised Tantita Security Services for its efforts against illicit activities targeting national assets, including crude oil theft, and acknowledged the support of the Chief of Army Staff and other security leaders.

“Our contract is performance-based, and such performance hinges on the backing of government security forces. With our success comes our compensation, and for that, we are grateful.”

“This project reflects the belief of our Chairman, Tompolo, and the Managing Director in its importance. I assure you that we will continue to support you, just as you have always supported us. This is only the beginning of a remarkable partnership,” he added.

The event was attended by high-ranking security officials, a host of journalists, and community leaders.
