A five-year-old girl was killed in a fatal road accident that occured along Onitsha- Enugu Old road by Oye agu junction Abagana, Anambra State.
The accident which occured at about 7:15am on Wednesday left four persons seriously injured, a statement by the Anambra Police Command Spokesperson, SP Ikenga Tochukwu said.
Ikenga further noted that “the accident occurred due to the break failure of the Toyota Sienna vehicle carrying passengers and en route to Lagos rammed into traders selling by the roadside at Oye Agu junction.”
He said that the commissioner of Police,CP Nnaghe Obono Itam while condoling with the families of the deceased and the victims, cautioned “drivers/transporters to always do the necessary checks before plying the road, especially during this Ember month.
Furthermore, the CP had directed the arrest and interrogation of the driver while the vehicle has been recovered and moved to the Station as the investigation is ongoing.”
