Gabriel Iliya Magaji, a 38-year-old resident of Masaka in the Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, tragically took his own life after allegedly discovering his wife’s infidelity.

His body was found in a classroom at Crystal School in Masaka.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Nasarawa Command, DSP Nansel Ramhan, confirmed Magaji’s death to reporters in Lafia, the state capital, on Wednesday.

He stated, “On Monday at around 7 AM, a staff member at Crystal School Masaka reported to our office that an unidentified man was found hanging in one of the classrooms.

“Upon receiving the report, the DPO led his team to the scene, where they untied the body and transported it to the General Hospital in Mararaba, where a doctor confirmed him dead. The body was then deposited in the morgue.”

DSP Ramhan noted that no suicide note was discovered, and the police have initiated a comprehensive investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.

According to a note shared with our correspondent, a source familiar with the situation revealed that Magaji ended his life after learning that his friends were regularly sleeping with his wife for money.

The note indicated, “When he confronted his wife, she explained that she did it because he was unable to provide food for the family.

She stated that his friends often had sex with her and gave her money, which she used to buy food for herself and their three children.”
