Meanwhile, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, whose wife Titi hails from Ilesa in Osun State, expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Owa-Obokun, praising the late monarch as a fatherly figure and a symbol of the courage, boldness, and discipline of the Ijesha people.

On Thursday, Atiku shared his feelings on X, posting a statement alongside a photo of himself with the late monarch and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.

He wrote, “With a heavy heart, I received the news of the passing of the Owa Obokun of Ijesa land, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran.

“The late Owa meant more to me than a father-in-law. Each visit brought the warmth of a son’s welcome. We all cherished him deeply.

“He was a great monarch who embodied the boldness, courage, and discipline of the Ijesha lineage.

“On behalf of my wife, Titi, I extend my condolences to the Owa-in-Council and all indigenes and residents of Ijesa land, especially the royal family.

“As Oba Aromolaran turns his face to his maker, I pray that his soul finds eternal peace.”
