Gunshots were reported near former United States President Donald Trump’s golf course on Sunday, according to his campaign organization.

“President Trump is safe following gunfire in his vicinity. No further details are available at this time,” stated Steven Cheung, his campaign spokesman, in a brief announcement.

The New York Post reported that two individuals exchanged gunfire outside the former president’s golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

However, the report clarified that Trump was not the intended target of the gunfire.

Trump was golfing at the resort on Sunday, which is located a short distance from his primary residence, Mar-a-Lago, according to various media outlets.

This incident occurs approximately two months after an assassination attempt on the Republican presidential candidate. Recall that a lone gunman, Thomas Crooks, opened fire on Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, injuring the former president in his right ear on Saturday, July 13.
