Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has officially sworn in Dr. Law Mefor as the new Information Commissioner.

The ceremony took place in the State Executive Council Chambers at the Government House in Awka.

Dr. Mefor steps into this role at a time when the need for accurate and timely information is more urgent than ever.

Governor Soludo highlighted that Dr. Mefor brings a wealth of experience and expertise that is expected to invigorate the state’s information machinery.

In line with the Governor’s vision, Dr. Mefor expressed his intention to collaborate with media organizations to enhance media literacy among the public, equipping citizens with the skills to critically assess information and combat the spread of misleading content.

The Commissioner also pledged to innovate the state’s Ministry of Information through technology, making it more responsive, efficient, and accessible to citizens. He aims to create a ministry that utilizes data-driven insights and analytics to inform evidence-based policymaking and decision-making.
