President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree as the new Director of Energy Security in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
According to a statement from Zakari Mijinyawa, Head of Strategic Communications at ONSA, this appointment underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring a stable, sustainable, and secure energy supply for all Nigerians.
With over 20 years of experience in business, politics, and the energy sector, Amachree is expected to leverage his expertise to tackle the nation’s energy challenges effectively.
He holds degrees in Management and is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School, with a proven track record of leadership in both the public and private sectors, especially in the Niger Delta.
The newly established Energy Security Directorate within ONSA will concentrate on policy coordination, infrastructure protection, data management, security coordination, risk advisory, and forming strategic alliances in the energy sector.
“As the new Director of Energy Security, Amachree will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including government ministries, security agencies, energy regulators, international partners, and community leaders to devise innovative solutions for Nigeria’s current and future energy challenges,” the statement concluded.
