…CP Kanayo orders comprehensive investigation into the incident
The Enugu State Police Command has launched an investigation into a fire that broke out at Pinnacle Filling Station on Agbani Road in Enugu during the early hours of today, Friday, September 20, 2024.
In a statement, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the command’s spokesperson, reported, “The fire was swiftly extinguished with assistance from both federal and state fire services, who promptly responded to the emergency.”
“Fortunately, no lives were lost. However, three vehicles waiting to purchase fuel were damaged before normalcy was restored by the police.”
Ndukwe added that; “A preliminary investigation suggests that the fire may have been caused by fuel leakage from one of the vehicles buying fuel at the station.
“Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, psc (+), who personally oversaw operations at the scene, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State CID to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
