A lecturer at Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State was killed by his younger brother on Friday.
According to eyewitnesses, Mr. Rasheed Braimah was attending a burial in Auchi when his brother invited him for an urgent meeting.
Upon his arrival, he was shot at point-blank range by his brother, who then tried to flee but was captured by the local youths, who enacted instant justice by burning him alive.
Reports indicate that the family consists of three men, one of whom is currently imprisoned overseas. The suspect believed that his elder brother was not doing enough to secure his release.
It is said that he visited a herbalist who informed him that Rasheed was responsible for the plight of their imprisoned brother, which prompted him to plot his murder.
