The Association of Private Practicing Surveyors of Nigeria (APPSN) has highlighted the significant benefits the Enugu State government could gain from collaborating with private surveyors.
On Wednesday, 25th September 2024, during a courtesy visit to the Enugu State Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Barr. Patrick Chimaobi Okorie, APPSN underscored the vital role private surveyors play in enhancing land management, improving infrastructure development, and promoting efficient urban planning across the state.
Surv. Sir Sunday A. Ezeh, the State Chairman of APPSN Enugu State Branch, spoke on behalf of the group and emphasized that “the expertise and innovative approaches of private surveyors can bolster government efforts in tackling various land-related challenges. By fostering a collaborative relationship, the state can harness the specialized skills of private practitioners to expedite land surveying processes, ensure precise land titling, and improve the overall efficiency of land administration.”
The association reaffirmed its dedication to working closely with the Enugu State government, providing technical support and professional services that align with the state’s development objectives.
Surv. Ezeh further noted, “This partnership is expected to streamline land management practices and promote sustainable economic growth and development in Enugu State. We are ready to assist the government in tapping into the full potential of private surveying services, which will ultimately lead to enhanced land governance and a more prosperous future for the state.”
Surv. Geoffrey Ndubuisi Agbo, the Publicity Secretary of the Association, emphasized the crucial contributions private practicing surveyors make to land administration. “Surveying is a serious business when it comes to land administration, and the input of surveyors in private practice cannot be overstated,” he affirmed.
In response, Barr. Patrick Chimaobi Okorie, the Honourable Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, expressed gratitude to the association for their visit and commitment to collaboration. He pledged to engage regularly with the association on development initiatives.
He also promised to hold further discussions with the association to explore strategies for advancing land administration in the state.
