The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its campaign for the local government elections in Akwa Ibom State following the death of the First Lady, Patience Eno.

Edwin Ebiese, the PDP’s publicity secretary in the state, announced in a statement that the local government campaigns across the state would be halted as a mark of respect for the late Mrs. Eno.

Expressing the party’s devastation over the First Lady’s passing, Ebiese stated that the PDP stands in solidarity with the entire Akwa Ibom community during this time of mourning.

“As we grapple with this profound loss, we feel it is essential to pause our campaign activities in her honor,” he remarked.

Ebiese also urged God to grant the governor, the state, and the Eno family the strength to endure this sorrow.
