Two suspected car vandals specializing in breaking into parked vehicles and stealing valuables in Enugu have finally been apprehended.
The suspects, Abuchi Kenneth, 27, and Ifeanyi Odu, 29, were arrested by operatives of the Enugu State Police Command’s New Haven Division on September 24, 2024, around 4 p.m.
According to a statement from the command’s spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, they were apprehended “for stealing a Samsung Galaxy and an Infinix smartphone from a vehicle parked along Rangers Avenue, Enugu.”
Ndukwe further noted that “preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects, who provided their addresses as Zuba, Abuja, and Nekede Owerri, Imo State, stealthily broke into the parked car and absconded with the phones.
Upon receiving reports of the crime, the operatives swiftly pursued the suspects, intercepting and arresting them at the Otigba roundabout in Enugu. They recovered the stolen phones along with the suspects’ operational vehicle, a Toyota Corolla with registration number KUJ 614 CF.”
