Leaders at all levels of government in Nigeria are called upon to transcend political distractions and prioritize innovative solutions that will transform the economy and create better opportunities for all citizens.

Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr., the Igwe-elect of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, made this appeal on Tuesday in his Independence Day message, marking Nigeria’s 64th Independence anniversary.

He emphasized that the progress desired for the nation requires collective commitment, urging Nigerians to remain steadfast through challenges. “Nigeria belongs to all of us, and it is our shared responsibility to shape the country we envision. True patriotism is reflected in our solidarity and collaborative efforts for the common good,” Chief Ogbonna stated.

He commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State for his outstanding leadership, praising the governor’s dedication to infrastructure development and economic advancement within the state. Chief Ogbonna encouraged other leaders to emulate Mbah’s focus on development over political interests.

Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the people of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese for their unwavering support, acknowledging their vital contributions to the community’s progress. Chief Ogbonna urged the newly sworn-in local government chairmen to approach their roles with commitment and action, reminding them that local governance is essential for fostering grassroots development.
