Former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to take a two-week vacation abroad while Nigeria faces significant economic and security challenges.

Lamido expressed his disapproval in a statement titled “DEAF, DUMB, CONFOUNDED” on his Facebook page.

He accused President Tinubu of deliberately causing hardship for Nigerians, questioning, “Does President Tinubu possess the empathy, compassion, and concern to reflect on the dire situations of Nigerians while enjoying the comfort of Europe?”

The former governor drew a parallel to the biblical story of Pharaoh and Moses, suggesting that Tinubu’s actions mirror Pharaoh’s indifference to the suffering of his people.

Recall that Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, had in a statement on Wednesday, said that the president’s vacation serves as a working retreat to evaluate his administration’s economic reforms.

Onanuga confirmed that President Tinubu will return to Nigeria after his two-week leave.
