A father of nine, known as Mr. Charles, has tragically taken his own life by consuming a toxic insecticide called Sniper.

The incident occurred on Monday, October 7, in the Jeddo community of Okpe Local Government Area. Charles ingested the poison at his home before traveling to his in-laws’ residence, where he died shortly afterward.

A member of the Jeddo Community Vigilance group, Charles prepared the deadly substance at his home and then went to his in-laws’ house in Ugbokodo, where he succumbed to its effects soon after.

Reports suggest his despair may have stemmed from personal struggles, particularly the sudden departure of his wife following a heated argument.

Despite multiple attempts by Charles and mutual friends to mediate and persuade his wife to return, she consistently refused, which likely exacerbated his emotional turmoil.

As of this report, the Delta State Police Command has not yet been officially notified of the incident, according to Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe.

Further details about the circumstances surrounding this tragedy remain uncertain.
