Hon. Professor Paul Sunday Nnamchi, the transformative representative, has launched a significant initiative to revitalize the communities in the Enugu East/Isi Uzo Federal Constituency of Enugu State through the widespread installation of solar-powered street lights.
The project, which commenced in September, has already illuminated over 20 communities in the Enugu East Local Government Area. Beneficiaries include Nkpologu, Mainland Street, and Bank Street in Emene, as well as Roads 12, 18, 7, 8, 11, and 10 in Trans Ekulu.
The first phase of the project also extends to Ogbowere, Akpugo Street, Ugboye, Abakpa, the Ugboezeji market, Ezeji Close, Silas Street, Uzo Ava Street, Mission Road, Ugbodogwu, and FAAN Quarters. Additionally, areas such as St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Otti Ernest Street, Osita Ikekpeazu Close, and Ugbenyi in Trans Ekulu have been illuminated.
In Nike, the street lights have reached Akpuoga Nike, Amorji Nike, Ugwogo Nike, Mbosi Street, Ogwuagor 2, and Ward 17. The Isi Uzo phase is now underway, benefiting Ehamufu Township, Aguamede, and Mgbuji.
Reacting to this positive development, Comrade Nelson Onah, the Youth Secretary of Umunameze Community in Ugwogo-Nike, expressed his enthusiasm: “Prof. Nnamchi has awakened our world and banished the darkness that comes with the night. He has beautified Ugwogo-Nike.”
Another resident from Obinagu Community, Ugwogo-Nike, Mr. Osita Eze, conveyed his gratitude to Hon. Prof. Nnamchi for his attention to their community, praying for God’s continued empowerment for the representative to achieve even more.
During the installation at Ogwuagor Abakpa 2, Ward 17, the community members were overwhelmed with gratitude, exclaiming, “From our hearts, we say thank you so much, Honorable Professor Nnamchi!”
A passer-by from the Neke Uno community, Mbulu-Iyiukwu, Mr Ngwu Paschal, marvelled at the transformation brought about by the street lights in Ugwogo-Nike. He praised Prof. Nnamchi for his spirit of inclusivity, showcasing his commitment to community development.
