On Friday, October 11, 2024, the Enugu State Internal Revenue Service (ESIRS) received the prestigious award for Best State Revenue Agency in ICT Integration, highlighting the state’s dedication to innovation and technology.
Presented by the Bureau of Public Service Reform from the Office of the President, this honour underscores the significant impact of digital initiatives in revenue collection.
The Chairman of ESIRS, Emmanuel Ekene Nnamani was also celebrated as a Distinguished GovTech Trailblazer for his transformative leadership in revenue generation.
In his acceptance speech, Nnamani expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition, viewing the award as both an achievement and a motivation to strive for even greater accomplishments.
“This award transcends our past successes; it is a call to action for the benefit of Ndi Enugu. We must relentlessly push the boundaries of technology and innovation to elevate our state’s revenue efforts,” Nnamani stated.
Under Nnamani’s guidance, ESIRS has made remarkable progress in harnessing technology to boost revenue generation. This accolade confirms the state’s commitment to enhancing its internally generated revenue (IGR), which has experienced substantial growth since the current administration took office, further solidifying ESIRS’ role in Enugu State’s ongoing development.
The chairman noted that this award would not have been feasible without the visionary leadership and steadfast support of His Excellency, Governor Peter Mba.
He emphasized that Governor Mba’s administration is dedicated to utilizing technology to propel economic growth and has fostered a supportive environment for ESIRS to flourish.
