Air Peace Limited has reassured its customers that justice will prevail regarding “expanded” charges brought by United States authorities.

The airline’s CEO and founder, Allen Onyema, is accused of obstructing justice by allegedly submitting false documents to interfere with a federal investigation.

In a statement from the Justice Department posted on Justice.gov, Ejiroghene Eghagha, the airline’s Chief of Administration and Finance, was also charged for participating in the obstruction scheme and for earlier bank fraud allegations.

In response to these developments, the airline’s management acknowledged that the charges against its executives are part of a prolonged legal process stemming from previous accusations of financial misconduct over several years.

While the charges have been broadened, the company emphasized that both Onyema and Eghagha remain innocent as the case is ongoing in court.

The company stated: “Our legal team is fully engaged in this matter and is working diligently to ensure that justice prevails.

“We are confident that, through due process, the truth will come to light, and our CEO and co-defendant will be exonerated.

“It is crucial to highlight that Dr. Onyema and his legal team have consistently cooperated with authorities throughout this process, and Air Peace continues to operate smoothly, maintaining our commitment to providing excellent service to our valued customers.”

Air Peace asserted that the legal proceedings would not impact its daily operations.

“Our staff’s dedication and focus remain unwavering as we strive to deliver the best aviation experience in Nigeria and beyond,” it concluded.

Onyema and Eghagha have been under investigation for alleged money laundering since 2019.
