The spokesperson reported that officers engaged the suspects in a fierce gun battle, resulting in Nanzi sustaining an injury. Additionally, a double-barrel gun and seven live cartridges were recovered from him.

“Upon arrival, the police encountered armed robbers who opened fire on them — the officers demonstrating bravery, manoeuvred into strategic positions and effectively returned fire.

“During the confrontation, one suspect was neutralized, while another named Moses Nanzi ‘m’, 31yrs of Faringada in Plateau State, sustained a gunshot injury and was arrested.

“The remaining gang members fled into the bushes. A double-barrel gun and seven rounds of live cartridges were recovered from the arrested suspect.”
