Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, recently shared her thoughts following her removal from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.
During her 38th birthday celebration in Abuja, Edu conveyed her optimism for Nigeria’s future and her confidence in Tinubu’s leadership.
Addressing her well-wishers, she emphasized her belief that the current administration would ultimately improve living conditions for Nigerians.
Edu also took the opportunity to thank those who supported her and the youth initiatives she championed, expressing her conviction that, with patience, “things will begin to get better” for the citizens.
Her remarks came shortly after presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga confirmed her permanent exit from the cabinet, announcing that her position had been filled by Nentawe Yilwatda.
“Betta Edu is gone. She was suspended in January, and this is October. She is gone. Her position has been taken over by someone else… that is the man from Plateau State (Yilwatda).
“As far as this government is concerned, there is no longer a place for her in that cabinet,” Onanuga stated in an interview with Channels TV.
